Virginia was educated in Fulton County Public School for Blacks in Alpharetta named Bailey Johnson Elementary and High School which was located directly across the street from the house she grew up in.  She was very active in school organization and was Miss Bailey-Johnson in 1962  and graduated Valedictorian of the Class of 1965.
